Typography plays a huge role in almost every website design. The typeface you choose has a massive influence on the personality, tone and style of the content. The New York Times, for example, perfectly suits the clean, readable, professional serif’s of Georgia, and a more playful font would look out of place. The choice of font that you use, whether it’s for the body copy or for the headings, has a surprisingly big influence over how the content comes across.
If you’re in the process of designing (or redesigning) a site, and you want to change it’s personality and visual aesthetics, it may be worth seeing what it looks like with a variety of different font choices. Using less commonly used fonts can also have the unexpected benefit of making your site design stand out from other sites that tend to use the same set of typefaces.
We’ve brought together a collection of beautifully designed free and premium fonts for you to try out. Please do make sure to check any licenses for any fonts you use, as some may only be available for personal projects. We hope you find the collection useful for your next design project.
